From Wikipedia: Mona Lisa (also known as La Gioconda) is a 16th century portrait painted in oil on a poplar panel by Leonardo da Vinci during the Italian Renaissance. At Calit2 on the UC San Diego campus, researchers are finding new ways to interact with data. Here, project scientist Jurgen Schulze demonstrates a 3D interactive tour of Leonardo da Vinci's "Adoration of the Magi", using a Flock of Birds virtual-reality system and software that permits the viewer to "walk into" the painting. As researcher and "art detective" Maurizio Seracini demonstrates, taking steps toward the projection of the painting allows the user to move from the surface of the Adoration to the layer displaying an infrared image of the painting -- which displays the original "underdrawing" by da Vinci. Seracini's research confirmed that while da Vinci drew the underdrawing, others applied the sometimes erratic brown hue that characterizes the painting today on display in Florence's Uffizi Gallery.

Slavisa Pesci, an information technologist and amateur scholar, says superimposing the "Last Supper" with its mirror-image throws up another picture containing a figure who looks like a Templar knight and another holding a small baby. "I came across it by accident, from some of the details you can infer that we are not talking about chance but about a precise calculation," Pesci told journalists when he unveiled the theory earlier this week Below are comments provided by LucidQuest (Italy - thank you): "Hi, really appreciate this video. I'm italian, so I give you a quick translation, adding some comments, as I got a good image of the Last Supper and managed to make the same actions under a graphic application. 1. You need a program as Adobe Photoshop to do the following: load the image, duplicate it and mirror it. This is my discovery and this video was made by myself. I hope that someone will analyze it and see that I am right and maybe come with more proves, maybe a 3D replica of the painting. I found this by just looking at a photo with the painting and it`s only in the photos taken from the original painting. It does not appear in other copies because nobody noticed the 14th man holding the knife. If you have questions leave comments and I`ll probably answer. All the credits to me :P and Leonardo Da Vinci of course for making such a master piece! Update: It will seem important that I also tell you that the 14th man is sitting somehow in Judas` lap (no 4) (I can also think of Judas` alter ego, he did betray Jesus after all.)
